Shared storage exists to make collaboration easy — which also makes it a distribution channel for malicious files. Anything saved to a NAS or file-sharing system from a compromised workstation moves a step closer to everyone else. GravityZone Security for Storage inspects files where they land, before they spread.

The solution protects ICAP-compliant NAS and file-sharing systems in real time. It combines machine learning, heuristics, signatures and cloud lookups; the machine learning models work with 40,000 elements and draw on collective threat intelligence from file samples collected by endpoints worldwide. Known and unknown file-based infections are caught, including those used in zero-day and targeted attacks.

The module is managed from the same GravityZone console as the rest of the platform. Policies, exclusions, default actions, custom reports and real-time notifications can be tailored to the organisation's requirements. Additional ICAP servers absorb growing scan volume, and policy-driven load balancing across all servers removes network-level single points of failure.
